Orthros & Divine Liturgy More info ►
Every Sunday, 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
The word Orthros, in Greek, literally means 'Sunrise' or 'Dawn.' This service lasts approximately 90 minutes before transitioning into the Divine Liturgy.
The Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom (c. 347-407), Archbishop of Constantinople, is the most prevalent of four ancient liturgies accepted by the early Church and still in use today. The Divine Liturgy has been continuously celebrated since the time of its composition, and can be thought of as being comprised of two main parts: The Prayer of the Word, which culminates in the Epistle and Gospel readings; and the Prayer of the Faithful, which culminates in the reception of Holy Communion. This service also lasts approximately 90 minutes.
