Ministries

There are many opportunities to participate in the parish life, depending on everyone's talents and interests. To get involved look for opportunities in the Connect app or contact the church office.

  • Administration

    Elected positions:


    • Board of Auditors is elected in the Fall General Assembly to audit the finances for the year ending and present a report to the Spring General Assembly.
    • Board of Elections is elected in the Spring General Assembly to idenitfy and recruit candidates for Parish Council elections in December.
    • Parish Council is the governing body. Elections are held every December for the available seats for a three year term.

    Unelected positions:


    • Facilities Committee coordinates the maintenance and repairs for the buildings, equipment, and church grounds.
    • Technology Committee administers all information technology equipment and software.
  • Evangelism and Outreach

    Formational classes are offered periodically, with special classes for those new to Orthodoxy (inquirers), and those preparing themselves to becoming Orthodox (catechumens).


    Volunteering opportunities include the hospitality ministry and managing the library and the bookstore.

  • Fundraising

    The Stewardship Committee coordinates the stewardship campaigns collecting pledges for supporting the church financially and throug volunteering.


    The Festival Committee plans and coordinates our largest fundraiser of the year, the Greek Festival, held every August in the weekedn prior to Labor Day weekend. For more information see the festival web page

  • Liturgical Ministry

    Opportunities to support the liturgical life includes singing in the choir, helping in the altar (acolytes), or baking prosphora

  • Service Ministry


    Our parishioners donate money and time multiple ministries that support the community:


    • St. Philothei Ministry cooks meals every month for the Women's Shelter and stocks the pantry of a local housing community.
    • Elpida Visitation Ministry stays in touch wiht elderly who live alone or are in need of help.
    • The Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society is the philanthropic arm of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. Our local Philoptochos chapter actively fundraises and supports local an national charities.
    • Philoxenia Charities is a non-profit organization founded by our parish and supported by our Metropolis that offer free housing to patients seeking treatment at Mayo Clinic. For more information, see the Philoxenia web site
  • Small Group Ministry

    Small groups are formed by parishioners with similar interests. 

    The most active group is the Young Adult League (YAL) that brings together parishioners between 18 and 35 years old.

  • Youth Ministry

    Sunday School is offered most Sundays from September through May for preschool and school age children. 


    Youth groups organize activities for specific age groups:

    • Greek Orthodox Youth of America (GOYA) minister to children in grades 6 through 12
    • Junior Orthodox Youth (JOY) ministers to children in grades 3 through 5
    • Holy Orthodox Primary Education (HOPE) ministers to childrens from PreK through 2nd grade.

    Volunteering opportunities include principal and substitute teachers, and youth activity coordinators.
