To offer free temporary housing to individuals and families seeking medical treatment in Rochester, Minnesota.

WHAT WE DO
Philoxenia2-webWe offer free temporary housing to individuals and families visiting the Mayo Clinic within a Christian Orthodox environment that provides spiritual healing and comfort.

NEEDS 
Volunteers, Donations, Maintenance, Housekeeping, Fundraising, and Administration support.

Feed the Hungry

To provide meals for those in crisis at Rochester shelters.

WHAT WE DO
Once a month we meet to cook, talk, laugh, and clean up the mess!

NEEDS 
Each month we need six volunteers and $200 dollars to make the meals. Anyone that can reach the counter and be trusted to be safe in the kitchen is welcome!

    Interface with the media. Develop printed materials related to our Parish.

    Assist with our website content and ongoing upkeep. Help with general IT needs including our Parish Management software.

  • Fellowship Events
    Assist in organizing events such as our Parish BBQ, Ethnic Potluck, and others.

  • Outreach Table
    Help staff this informational table at the Greek Festival.

Lead The Faithful

MISSION STATEMENT
To assist the parish priest and to represent the members of our parish in collaborative planning, service, and leadership related to parish life.

WHAT WE DO
The duties of a PC member include regular attendance and participation in the sacramental life of the Church. Under the guidance of the Priest, the PC assists in the administration of the affairs and ministries of the Parish including finance, committee oversight, planning, and budget preparation. Current members serve multiple ministries beyond the Parish Council including Sunday school, choir, usher/greeter, JOY/GOYA, faith nights, adult education, building committee, and festival committee. This broad involvement lends to a better understanding of our parish needs and aids in the ability to plan for our future.

To represent our members in the auditing of our Parish financial affairs. To pursue financial integrity and transparency in the management, administration, and accounting of our financial systems and controls.

WHAT WE DO
We audit the financial affairs of our Parish and report prior year results to the Parish Council and General Assembly. We ensure the fiduciary responsibility of our financial systems to donating members and the IRS.

Philanthropy for the Church

MISSION STATEMENT
For the homeless in our midst, for the child in pain, for the abused, for the sick, for the devastated, for the abandoned, for those in despair, the Holy Anargyroi Philoptochos cares and responds.

WHAT WE DO

  • Fundraising for charities and our events, including a Holiday Bake Sale, Fashion Show, and Palm Sunday Dinner.
  • Assist the Church in all areas such as Holy Week and the Greek Festival.
  • Visit people who are homebound.
  • Assist the St. Philothei Project and donate cookies to the Ronald McDonald House and Hope Lodge.

NEEDS
All Orthodox women over the age of 18 are encouraged to join as Society Members. Orthodox men, and non-Orthodox women who are married to an Orthodox Christian are welcomed to join as Associate Members. We need help and we ask for people to participate to help others in need.
